FYP?? Better you start thinking about it

At this moment, it's better for you(current internship student)to have some idea or start thinking about your FYP/dissertation topic.
I would like to share my experience when I was doing my internship. I keep emailing lecturers to ask for their opinion and of course I decided first to focus on my major, which is Knowledge Management. So it's become easier because I've narrow down my topic scope.Then,I did come to UTP to meet lecturers to discuss further on my topic. Sampaikan my officemates keep on ask me, " Best sangat ke UTP tu sampaikan you tak sabar-sabar nak balik sana?" It's all about my FYP ....
Ok, there is some tips for you to choose on your topics (include my experience):

1)Choose a subject area first, then you choose the topic
- For example, I choose first my subject area is on Knowledge Management, then I choose the related topic.

2)Choose something that interests you
- This is very important because you'll be 'living' or 'dying' with this thesis for two semester. And make sure your advisor interested too with your topic. Your advisor’s enthusiasm for your topic will determine his or her willingness to read, support,give feedback and direction to your project.

3) Pick a topic that you already have some expertise about.
- This will help you a lot. I have friends who did their FYP on the topic that they have less expertise on that. The result, their FYP is 'killing' them. This isn't the time to explore a brand new area. But, no problem if you want to do so but i think you need to take coursework and write papers that will help you write your dissertation or thesis.
If you choose the right research topic, your project will be less challenging, more enjoyable, and definitely more interesting to do. A subject that you are really interested in will provide you great happiness in doing your tasks. This will result to better research papers. If you want to choose a good topic, you have to do something for it. If you just sit and think, not much can help.


firnass : Once again I've changed my FYP topic as suggested by panel for my PreEDX and my SV. There is a major changes actually especially on the Literature Review but alhamdulillah the result I can still using the same result. Ms.Mazeyanti ( my nice SV ) asked me to submit the dissertation tomorrow so that she can check it first and we can edit and then submit the final one on this coming Monday.

"It's ok for your project didn't have such a boombastic prototype but you will contrribute to Knowledge Society. Don't forget to submit your project softcopy to me, I want to submit and present it at the conference", said Ms.Mazeyanti before I leave her office.
